Role in BioClima
As the coordinator of the BioClima project, FAS UWB plays a central role in steering the initiativeβs vision: improving climate and biodiversity monitoring through innovative data integration. The Department of Geomatics contributes its expertise in:
- Project coordination and management
- Development of harmonised geospatial and EO data workflows
- Design and validation of integrated monitoring platforms
- AI-assisted analytics using Essential Biodiversity and Climate Variables
- Pilot deployment and scaling of solutions in European and cross-continental contexts
FAS UWB also leads engagement with European data spaces and fosters interoperability with global initiatives, ensuring the BioClima tools support evidence-based policy-making at all levels.
