We are happy to share the first issue of the BioClima Newsletter, which is now available online.
Newsletter 1 looks back at the first year of the BioClima project and introduces the main ideas behind our work. It shows how BioClima connects climate and biodiversity monitoring, combining Earth observation, field data, artificial intelligence and pilot activities across Europe and China.
What you will find in Newsletter 1
Instead of covering everything in detail, the newsletter highlights some key moments and topics from the project’s first phase, including:
- the launch of BioClima and the first EU–China meetings,
- the development of a shared and interoperable monitoring framework aligned with international standards,
- early pilot activities, including the Czech pilot site entering its operational phase,
- BioClima’s presence at international expert forums and conferences,
- cooperation between European and Chinese partners and the growing international network,
- an overview of European and Chinese use cases, covering forests, agriculture, coastal zones and other ecosystems.
The newsletter also introduces the BioClima consortium, bringing together 37 organisations from Europe and China, and outlines what is coming next as the project moves into its next phase.
