BioClima is pleased to strengthen its collaboration with the Horizon Europe sister project Biodiversity Meets Data (BMD), reinforcing joint efforts to improve the communication and dissemination of research supporting biodiversity conservation across Europe.
BMD is developing a Biodiversity Explorer – a single access point that brings together high-throughput biodiversity monitoring tools, biodiversity data and analytical services to support evidence-based conservation and the implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030. Coordinated by Naturalis Biodiversity Center, the project connects researchers, data infrastructures and end users to improve biodiversity monitoring and decision-making across terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems.
As part of the ongoing collaboration between the two Horizon Europe projects, BioClima and BMD are working together to increase the visibility and impact of their research by sharing key project activities, scientific results and events through their communication channels.
A first example of this collaboration was the promotion of the BioClima webinar "Understanding Biodiversity in Times of Climate Change" through BMD's LinkedIn and Bluesky channels, helping to reach a wider audience interested in biodiversity monitoring, Earth Observation and climate research.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to fostering knowledge exchange and building stronger connections across the European biodiversity research community. By supporting each other's communication activities, both projects aim to maximise the dissemination and impact of Horizon Europe research.
Looking ahead, BioClima and BMD are also exploring additional joint communication activities, including the possibility of organising a dedicated webinar bringing together Horizon Europe sister projects to showcase complementary approaches, share experiences and strengthen collaboration in biodiversity and climate research.
BioClima looks forward to continuing this partnership and contributing to a more connected and collaborative European research ecosystem.
